Overview
Pushpagiri started as a small clinic in Cheru Pushpagiri Hills with 8 beds in the year 1959 to provide maternity care to the rural people in and around Tiruvalla by the Catholic Diocese of Tiruvalla. As an initial step to attain its objectives the Society took over the ownership and management of Pushpagiri Hospital which had grown into Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, a tertiary care medical college Hospital
The teaching hospital of the Medical College is the Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital, with total 763 teaching beds. The hospital is under the administrative control of the Principal of the Medical College and administered by the Medical Superintendent. The hospital is a full-fledged tertiary care hospital provides outpatients, inpatients, Emergency & Trauma services. There are fourteen operation theatres in the Hospital. Full-fledged pharmacy services are provided for Outpatients and Inpatients accordingly. The laboratories are fully automated and equipped with all modern machines and equipment’s. The hospital has the most modern imaging facilities functioning round the clock. The Blood Bank is also fully functional round the clock with the latest component separation unit. There is a centralized sterilization department functioning in the hospital
The Emergency Medicine Department stands as the face of the institution, thus providing visibility & rapid access and provides contemporary evidence-based management round the clock
Specialized Cardiac Care and Mobile CCU ambulances are provided by the Hospital
for the needy patients.
The services of the Hospital is made available for Economically Poor Patients through various programmes supported by Government and Pushpagiri Medical Society
